ABOUT THE ARTIST

The Artist behind CMCoArt is Christine Cochrane that’s me.

 I was born and bred in Kirriemuir, Angus in Scotland, and moved to the Highlands in 1989.  

As a registered nurse in mental health and general nursing I worked in both NHS and third sector organisations such as Befrienders, Homestart, Children 1^st and most recently I managed Alcohol Counselling Services Ross and Sutherland.

I developed my art skills whenever it was possible maintaining the delicate balance of employment, single parenting and art education.

As a mental health nurse I recognise the huge value that creative processes have on our own well-being and those of the people I worked with, never missing the opportunity to promote art and creativity as an essential tool for personal & community well-being.
